Fishin' Frenzy is the Blueprint Gaming slot that made the fisherman collector famous in British pubs, bookmakers and online lobbies, long before Big Bass Bonanza. This review explains how the Fishin' Frenzy slot works, its RTP and max win, and how it compares with the many later versions.
Fishin' Frenzy is a 5×3, 10-line slot from Blueprint Gaming with a 96.12% RTP; Blueprint also supplies versions from 90% to 94%. Three, four or five fishing boat scatters give 10, 15 or 20 free spins, where every fisherman wild collects the cash value on each fish symbol in view. The fisherman also pays as a symbol, and OLBG says a screen full of wilds pays the top prize of 5,000× your stake. OLBG rates it high volatility. Stakes start at 10p, and free spins cannot be retriggered.

The Fishin' Frenzy slot is a 5×3 game with 10 paylines from Blueprint Gaming. Wins pay from left to right along the lines, and Blueprint describes it as a low stake, easy play game: stakes start at 10p. OLBG dates the release to September 2014 and calls it the most popular arcade and high-street bookmaker game in the UK. Blueprint's own game page, which covers the current online version, is dated November 2017.
The game has one bonus feature, the free spins, and almost all of its appeal comes from it. The base game is a plain line slot with fishing tackle, boats and card ranks, plus fish symbols that carry cash values. Those values matter only once the fisherman arrives in the free spins.
Three, four or five fishing boat scatters anywhere on the reels give 10, 15 or 20 Fishin' Frenzy free spins. During the round, the fisherman appears as a wild on all five reels. He substitutes for every symbol, and whenever he lands he catches every fish in view and pays the value printed on each one. If two or more fishermen land on the same spin, each of them collects all the fish values, so the prize is paid once per fisherman.
The round cannot be retriggered, according to OLBG, so the number of spins you start with is the number you get. A good round lands fishermen on the same spins as several high-value fish. A weak round lands fish without fishermen, which pays only ordinary line wins. That gap between rounds is why OLBG rates the game high volatility, even though the rules are simple.
The fisherman is also the highest paying symbol in the game. OLBG lists line pays of 1×, 10×, 50× and 500× your stake for two, three, four and five fishermen on a payline, and a screen full of fishermen pays the top prize of 5,000×. That top prize is extremely rare, but it is the reason the ceiling is higher than many players expect from such a simple slot.
The Fishin' Frenzy RTP is 96.12% in the main version Blueprint lists. Blueprint also supplies 90%, 92%, 93% and 94% versions, which is a wider range than most slots, and a UK casino chooses which one to run. On £1,000 of total stakes, 96.12% means an average cost of about £39, while 90% means about £100. That difference is large enough to matter over a few sessions, so open the game rules from the menu inside the slot and check the figure before you play.
The Fishin' Frenzy max win is 5,000× your stake, according to OLBG: £25,000 at the £5 UK maximum or £10,000 at the £2 limit for 18 to 24 year olds. Blueprint does not publish a max win or a volatility rating on its game page. OLBG rates the game high volatility, which fits a slot where the free spins carry most of the value and cannot be extended. Expect long base game runs with small line wins, and free spins rounds that range from a few times your stake to far more.
If you are looking for Fishin' Frenzy free spins as a casino offer, 2 UK offers in our database give spins on it, including BetVictor (£30 Bonus + 50 Free Spins) and Kitty Bingo (£30 Bingo Bonus + 50 Free Spins). Searches for Fishin' Frenzy free spins no deposit are common, but at UK licensed casinos almost every offer needs a deposit first, and some offers name a later version of the game rather than the original, so check the game name in the terms. Our Big Bass free spins page covers the fishing slots with the most offers.
Fishin' Frenzy free play means the demo version, which uses play credits instead of money. Blueprint shows a demo preview on its game page, and UK licensed casinos offer the Fishin' Frenzy demo once you register and pass the age check that UK rules require for free play. The demo shows how often the boats land and how the fisherman collects, but it cannot tell you how a real-money session will pay.
Blueprint lists a stake range up to £500, but in Great Britain the stake is capped at £5 a spin, or £2 if you are 18 to 24. Each spin lasts at least 2.5 seconds, and there is no autoplay or turbo. Blueprint's page also describes a red or black card gamble after a win; whether it appears depends on the casino, and we have not checked every UK lobby. If you see it, remember that a gamble can lose the win as easily as double it.
Blueprint has built a long series on the same idea. Fishin' Frenzy Megaways moves the game to six reels with up to 15,625 ways, at 96.10% in its top version. Fishin' Frenzy The Big Catch keeps 10 lines and adds fish upgrades: collecting four fishermen upgrades the smallest fish and adds five spins, and enough fishermen make every fish worth 50× in the Big Catch. The Big Catch 2 adds a Can of Worms that raises fish values, and The Big Catch Megaways combines both ideas. Fishin' Frenzy Even Bigger Fish is another version UK players search for. Each has its own RTP and maths, so treat them as separate games.
Big Bass Bonanza from Reel Kingdom and Pragmatic Play uses the same core idea, a fisherman wild who collects fish values in free spins, and adds a retrigger ladder: every fourth fisherman gives 10 more spins and a higher multiplier. That makes its free spins longer and more varied, with a 96.71% RTP but a lower 2,100× ceiling. Fishin' Frenzy is simpler, with no retriggers and no multipliers, and its appeal is that simplicity.
Fishin' Frenzy is worth playing if you like classic British fruit machine style games and want one clear feature. The rules take a minute to learn and the 96.12% top RTP is fair. The weak points are the dated look, the lack of retriggers and the low RTP versions that some casinos run. If you want more happening in the bonus, one of the newer versions or Big Bass Bonanza will suit you better.
There is no way to make sure you win on Fishin' Frenzy: every spin is random and the RTP is set by the version your casino runs. Check that version first, because the gap between 96.12% and 90% is one of the widest in our catalogue. Keep the stake small enough to reach several free spins rounds, skip the card gamble if you are playing to a budget, and set a deposit limit before you start.
