- Mystery symbols with Nudge and Reveal
- Razor Reveal with collectors and multipliers
Razor Returns is Push Gaming's sequel to Razor Shark, one of the best known high volatility slots of recent years. It adds a bigger grid, more ways to reach the free spins and a top win of 100,000×. This Razor Returns slot review explains each feature, the RTP and max win, and how it compares with the original.
Razor Returns is a high volatility underwater slot from Push Gaming with a 96.55% RTP and a highest observed win of 100,000×. Stacks of mystery symbols reveal matching symbols, wild sharks or Golden Sharks; Golden Sharks start the Razor Reveal feature with instant prizes, multipliers and collectors. Three or more Torpedo scatters trigger the free spins, where mystery stacks on reels 2 and 4 nudge down each spin and raise the multiplier by 1 with no upper limit. OLBG lists a 5×5 grid with 40 lines.

The Razor Returns slot from Push Gaming takes players back under the sea four years after Razor Shark, which OLBG dates to August 2019. Push Gaming released the sequel in July 2023, according to OLBG, on a 5×5 grid with 40 fixed paylines, one row more than the original. Wins pay from left to right on the lines, a great white wild shark substitutes for the paying symbols, and the Torpedo symbol is the scatter.
The main change from Razor Shark, in Push Gaming's own words, is that you can land additional scatters and start the free spins with a higher multiplier. Around that, the studio has added new symbols to the Razor Reveal feature and a Nudge Up symbol that keeps the free spins going.
Stacks of seaweed mystery symbols are the heart of the game. When they land, the Nudge and Reveal feature turns them into one paying symbol, the wild shark or Golden Shark symbols. If paying symbols are revealed, the line wins are paid, then the mystery stacks nudge down by one position and the other reels spin again. This continues until no mystery symbols are left, so a single spin can pay several times.
When the mystery symbols reveal Golden Sharks, the Razor Reveal feature starts. Each Golden Shark position spins through a set of prizes. Push Gaming lists Instant Prize symbols, Multiplier symbols that multiply instant prizes and collectors, Collector symbols that gather every instant prize on screen, Converter symbols that turn all paying symbols of one type into more Golden Sharks, Nudge Up symbols and Torpedo scatters. OLBG puts the instant prizes at up to 5,000× the bet and the multipliers at 2×, 3×, 5× or 10×. Because torpedoes can appear inside Razor Reveal, the feature can also lead straight into the free spins.
Three or more Torpedo scatters anywhere on the reels trigger the Razor Returns free spins, in the base game or during Razor Reveal. According to OLBG, three scatters start the round with a 1× multiplier, four with 5× and five with 25×. During the free spins, mystery symbols fill reels 2 and 4 and nudge down one position on every spin, and each nudge raises the total multiplier by 1. New mystery stacks can land to keep the round alive, and the Nudge Up symbol, which only appears in the free spins, pushes the stacks back up for more spins. The multiplier has no upper limit, which is where the 100,000× top win comes from.
The Razor Returns RTP is 96.55% in the top version Push Gaming lists, and the studio also lists a 94.49% version. OLBG mentions a third, 95.4% version. Push Gaming notes that RTP may vary by casino and can be found in the game's user panel and on its loading screen, so check it before you play. On £1,000 of total stakes, 96.55% means an average cost of about £35, while 94.49% means about £55.
The Razor Returns max win is 100,000× the bet, which Push Gaming describes as its highest observed win rather than a fixed cap. OLBG puts the odds of reaching it at 1 in 397,360,429 spins. At the £5 UK maximum stake that would be £500,000, and at the £2 limit for 18 to 24 year olds £200,000. The game is high volatility: the free spins are hard to trigger, and the size of a round depends on how long the mystery stacks survive. Most rounds end well short of the headline figures.
Push Gaming describes an optional Push Bet mode that raises your base bet by 10% to increase the chance of triggering the free spins. OLBG reports that it shortens the odds of the top win to 1 in 276,470,119 and does not change the RTP. Whether your casino shows the Push Bet switch depends on its version of the game. The bonus buy options, which let players elsewhere pay to enter the free spins or a full screen of Golden Sharks, are only offered outside the United Kingdom, according to OLBG.
Razor Returns free play means the demo, which uses play credits; the studio is Push Gaming, not Pragmatic Play, so look for Push Gaming in the casino lobby. UK licensed casinos offer the Razor Returns demo once you have registered and passed the age check required for any free play in Great Britain. Playing it shows how often the mystery stacks turn into Golden Sharks and how rare the free spins are, but a demo cannot tell you how a real money session will go.
In Great Britain the stake is capped at £5 a spin, or £2 if you are 18 to 24, and OLBG lists a UK range of 10p to £5. Every spin lasts at least 2.5 seconds, and there is no autoplay or turbo mode, which OLBG notes exist only outside the UK. Without a bonus buy, the free spins come only from Torpedo scatters, so plan your budget for a long wait.
For Razor Returns free spins as a casino offer, no current UK offer in our database names it. UK welcome offers mostly use simpler games such as Big Bass Splash, so expect to play Razor Returns with your own balance. Our free spins offers page lists every current offer and the game it uses.
Razor Shark is a 5×4, 20-line game with a 96.70% top RTP and no fixed cap; OLBG reports a record win of 85,475×. Razor Returns adds a row, doubles the lines to 40, raises the instant prizes and lets four or five scatters start the free spins with a 5× or 25× multiplier. The sequel is more complex and has a higher ceiling; the original is simpler and has a slightly higher top RTP. If you enjoyed Razor Shark, Razor Returns is the natural next step.
Razor Returns is worth playing if you like very volatile slots with lots going on. The mystery stacks keep the base game busy, Razor Reveal adds real prizes, and the free spins multiplier gives every round a chance to grow. The downsides are the long waits for the free spins, the lower RTP versions some casinos run and how rarely the round reaches its potential. Check the RTP in the game info, keep the stake small and set a limit before you start. Free help is available from the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133.
